The closest answer wins when a question asks for a number and nobody has it exactly.

Guess the attendance, the year or the goal tally. The player nearest to the true figure scores. An exact guess still ranks above a near one. A sports quiz uses this on numeric questions, and sudden death can use it to split a tie.
